Food and Beverage Manufacturing

The food and beverage qualifications are designed for people employed in the processing of food, beverages and related products. These qualifications focus on employee skills and knowledge, and are ideal for preparing people to play productive operational, services and storage roles in the food and related products processing industries.

The qualifications contain compulsory, elective, and optional sections, which include training in

  • food safety and hygiene
  • food processing and production line skills
  • occupational health and safety
  • numeracy and communication skills
  • quality control in food processing
  • quality management, compliance and regulatory control
  • communication and management skills
  • workplace training and assessment

The unit standards in the following areas are available to suit specific work environments:

Competitive manufacturing, core health, core skills, dairy manufacturing, food and related products processing, food safety, manufacturing processes, materials management, numbers, occupational health and safety, and powered industrial lift trucks.
