Becoming an Assessor
Assessment of your apprentice’s skills and knowledge can happen in one of two ways – your Competenz account manager can perform the assessments, or it can be performed by a registered Competenz Assessor.
You or another supervisor within your workplace can become a Workplace Assessor – provided you can show you have the right skills and knowledge to competently assess others.
Or you can choose to become a Roving Assessor to assess learners within your company as well as other companies within the same area of industry.
For either option you’ll need to hold a relevant trade qualification and be in a supervisory role, plus some training is required to ensure you can competently assess other learners within your industry scope.
Your Competenz account manager will support your workplace assessor to ensure their assessment processes are thorough, and the apprentice is achieving their units to stay on track to complete their apprenticeship.

Assessment can involve observing normal day-to-day work, manager’s verification, completion of learning and assessment workbook worksheets, and verbal discussions.
