Training Programmes

Competenz is an Industry Training Organisation (ITO). We develop training programmes for New Zealand companies in the Engineering, Manufacturing, Baking, Food and Beverage Manufacturing industries. For a full list of trades we cover, click here.

As per the ITO mandate from Government, Competenz does not deliver the training; we leave that to specialist education providers. Our role is to design qualifications that are tailored to the needs of your industry, to assess the achievement of qualifications and to conduct quality control.

Standard Traineeship Programmes

A number of National Certificates and National Diploma qualifications make up a traineeship programme. These range from NZQA Level 2 Certificates through to Level 6 National Diploma qualifications.

Literacy and Numeracy Support

It is estimated that half of New Zealand’s workforce has problems with reading and basic arithmetic. Regrettably, these people will always struggle to achieve qualifications. Competenz has made a clear commitment to help those who need help most. We can provide advice on dealing with literacy and numeracy issues in the workplace and to ensure that all employees can benefit from industry training and national qualifications.
