Working for Industry

Industry consultation and feedback is vital to ensuring Competenz meets the needs of industry employers and employees.

Our job is to continually monitor and improve the quality and effectiveness of our qualifications and the individual unit standards we are responsible for. To do so Competenz needs sound, practical advice from industry about the skills and training issues within the different industry sectors we are responsible for.

Consultation and feedback is continuously sought from industry at a number of levels

• Strategic Advisory Groups (SAG's) made up of employer representatives who assist Competenz by providing a strategic overview of medium to long term industry training needs and career pathways

• Qualification Advisory Groups (QAG's) made up of experts from industry who assist Competenz by providing technical content for qualifications and unit standards

• Provider Forums made up of tutors and provider representatives who assist Competenz in aligning off job training with industry needs

• Membership Forums made up of employers who give Competenz feedback on ITO performance
