Calling for Ivan Fisk 2011 Scholarship Applications


Competenz are calling for applications for the 2011 Ivan Fisk Memorial Scholarships.  If you wish to receive financial assistance to advance your career in mechanical engineering or in a commerce related subject area at NZQA Level 5, Diploma or Degree level, then apply now.

The scholarships are named in recognition of the late Ivan Fisk, for his efforts to help young New Zealander’s complete engineering apprenticeships and advance their careers to higher national qualifications.

The Ivan Fisk Memorial Scholarship fund is awarded for study in the following 12 month calendar year.

 

The Ivan Fisk Scholarship total fund pool annually is $10,000

This $10.000 amount of scholarship funding is then divided up between the successful applicants by the Ivan Fisk Committee depending on the marking guide the committee uses to select the scholarship winners.

 

Eligibility for Ivan Fisk Scholarship:

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed an (NZQA) Level 4 National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering through the apprenticeship programme
    *Apprentices that are currently in their final year of their apprenticeship are also encouraged to apply.
  • Be a New Zealand Citizen or have New Zealand Residency
  • Be residing and intending to study in New Zealand during 2011
  • Must undertake or start the prescribed chosen course of study within 12 months

 

Who should apply?

The successful applicants will have completed a National Certificate Level 4 Mechanical Engineering qualification through an apprenticeship.  You will also be focussing on studying for a NZQA Certificate, Diploma or Degree in 2011 at Level 5 and above to advance your career to higher national qualifications.

Apprentices who are in their final year of their apprenticeship programme are also eligible and encouraged to apply.
