The Level 3 Split System Air Conditioning qualification is designed for installers of split system (non-ducted) air conditioning equipment in domestic and commercial situations. People who have achieved this qualification have demonstrated their ability to install split system air conditioning competently with minimal or no supervision. Connection of electrical equipment to the mains power is not covered, and requires the services of a licensed electrician. Having achieved this qualification, trainees may advance to the Level 4 and 5 National Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

The Level 4 Refrigeration and Air Conditioning qualification is designed for technicians in the refrigeration and air conditioning discipline of engineering. People awarded with this qualification are able to install, maintain, service and commission refrigeration and air conditioning plant and equipment in accordance with industry specifications.

The National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Level 5) - Mechanical Services strand is intended for qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trades people looking to advance their technical, business, and overall leadership knowledge and skills in a supervisory role, or to gain a qualification at an advanced trade level.
