PolytechnicsCompetenz engages local and regional polytechnics to provide apprentices in their catchment area with training in the form of block courses, day release training and evening classes.
Most polytechnics provide a broad range of industry and trade training as well as competency assessments and credit reporting services. In some instances polytechnics can provide resources for distance learning as well as specialised industry training courses.
Many polytechnics now employ modern apprenticeship coordinators (MACs) who work to provide apprentices with a higher level of support and mentoring.
Training companiesCompetenz makes arrangements with local and regional training companies to provide specialised industry training courses for companies in their regional areas. Most training companies provide specialised industry and trade training, as well as competency assessments and credit reporting services.
Many training companies now employ modern apprenticeship coordinators (MACs) who work to provide apprentices with a higher level of support and mentoring.
Modern apprenticeship programmesIf your apprentice is aged 16 to 21, you may be interested in the modern apprenticeships programme.
The modern apprenticeships programme is designed to assist young school leavers and employers with setting up and completing apprenticeships. The modern apprenticeships programme provides additional support and mentoring for young apprentices on their path to skills and qualifications.
For more information on modern apprenticeships, please call the Competenz Customers Support Centre on 0800 526 1800.
