Waikato plastics and materials graduates celebrate

Around 90 people gathered at the Hamilton Gardens Pavilion on Wednesday, 6 November to celebrate the success of our Waikato-based plastics and materials processing graduates.

Barbara Wilkinson, Chief Executive of PaMPITO hosted the evening and Fiona Kingsford, General Manager Strategy and Integration of Competenz congratulated the graduates and introduced Competenz to the audience.

Dillon Boucher, ex- professional basketball player was the guest speaker. He spoke about the power of pushing yourself every day to be a better person by setting and meeting daily goals, personal or professional.

“Perseverance” he explained, “is the difference between achieving your goals and not succeeding”.

Three regional industry awards were handed out at the ceremony. These included:

2013 Outstanding Achievement - Pranesh Nand, Elite Polymers
2013 Commitment to Training Award - Gallagher Group
2013 Services to Training Award - Stan Gilmore, Elite Polymers

A second Services to Training Award was awarded In Absentia to:
2013 Services to Training Award - Rodney Young, EdBiz

For many of the attendees, the celebrations continued at the graduation dinner at the Hamilton Gardens Lakeside Venue.
