Consultation with a number of industries and businesses that Competenz arranges training for indicates that there is increasing interest in training related to machine maintenance. One possible solution is the creation of one or more micro-credential programmes to meet this demand.
Competenz is seeking your input to determine the best make up of these micro-credential programmes.
Micro-credentials
Micro-credentials are newly established programmes registered with NZQA that attract TEC funding.
The programmes have smaller credit value requirements compared to New Zealand Certificate programmes and can therefore be completed over shorter time periods.
The smaller credit value also allows the programme to be focused on a single task.
Proposed outcomes
The micro-credential programme(s) are intended for people carrying out routine maintenance on machines, plant and equipment across a range of operations and industries.
Using existing unit standards, we have created a number of micro-credential options (shown below) and require your feedback to ensure we are developing programmes that are fit for purpose.
