There’s lots of experience in training apprentices here so you’ll be really well trained by an experienced and qualified technician. Lots of variety on offer and you’ll be out on commercial property sites most days.

About you

Mōu

Ideal Air are focused on quality, safety of work and positive relationships so you’ll need to bring those qualities to this entry level role.

You’ll also need to bring:-

• A suitable pre-trade is required for this role
• Some mechanical, maintenance or engineering experience would be beneficial
• NCEA Level 2 in English and Maths
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• A go-getter attitude who is super keen to learn
• A useful measure of common sense and an eye for detail and problem solving
• Keen to taken on your apprenticeship in a family friendly environment
• Happy to get your hands dirty and on occasion work at heights
• Drivers Licence – a minimum of Restricted is preferable but not essential in the first year – but you do need to be able to get to the workshop on time for the daily morning service meeting

Hours of work

Ngā Hāora  

Typical workday is 8am to 4.30pm.  Service meetings that you will be expected to attend are held at 7:45am each day.  Some overtime available, when you are experienced enough, paid at time and a half.

New Zealand Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Trade) (Level 4)
