About the Opportunity

Mō Te Huarahi  

In this Screen-Printing job, you will work within an experienced team to produce many types of printed communications in different formats. They have knowledge of different machines, inks and solvents and use different types of presses to complete the jobs.  You will learn to set up screens with film, mix ink and colour match, set up and operate print equipment, quality control and general housekeeping.

APC are looking for someone who wants to learn the screen-printing side of the business, then progress to digital in a few years’ time.  There is definitely opportunity here to learn and progress.

 

About You

For this entry level role you will need to bring –

  • Some previous machine operator experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Keen to continuously learn
  • Like working with your hands and manual work
  • NCEA Level 2 in English and Maths – you will need to weigh, measure and count
  • Attention to detail
  • Like working with colour

 

Hours

Ngā Hāora  

 

Standard hours are 6am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday

 

Qualification

Te Tohu  

New Zealand Certificate in Print (Level 4) with strands in Digital Printing, Direct Marketing Production, Offset Printing, Reel-fed Printing, and Screen Printing

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

  • Carry out routine and preventative maintenance in the workplace, according to a maintenance programme
  • Apply industry knowledge of terminology, machinery, and equipment to implement a range of technical production skills to support print production requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify faults and problems throughout the print production process.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers to fulfil the requirements of the work and role.
  • Manage quality assurance and sustainable environmental practices to ensure industry standards are maintained.

Graduates of the Screen Printing strand will also be able to:

  • Prepare job components and make ready, the screen or pad printing machinery and any associated equipment to make screens and produce printed product using the screen printing process.
