About the Employer

Mō Te Kaitukumahi 

Taranakipine is a leading manufacturer of value-added, engineered wood products for national and offshore markets. The Maintenance Department’s goal is to ensure all company plant and machinery is maintained and improved for optimal performance. You will be part of a team responsible for undertaking scheduled preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance work for our three work sites. You may also be required to assist in the installation of new plant.

About the Opportunity

Mō Te Huarahi  

As an apprentice the company will support you -

  • To achieve a Level 4 National Certificate in Timber Machining (approx. 3 years, and be prepared to be bonded to Taranakipine for a period of time after completion of your National Certificate.)
  • To complete a combination of off-job and on-job training and assessment
  • By paying your wages, your course fees, and for any manuals you may require

About You


You must have a true passion for a machining career!

You will also need to –

  • Have a good work history (performance/reliability/timekeeping)
  • Focus on Health & Safety
  • Have a good attitude and willingness to learn
  • Work responsibly towards your qualification
  • Be motivated, positive, flexible, and prepared to take on responsibility  


Ngā Hāora

Hours will be discussed with you at interview stage with Taranakipine.  You will be required to work variable shifts Monday—Friday. Predominately Day Shift (6am—6pm). Nightshift (6pm – 6am) will be required for periods of time on request.
