This employer is looking for another apprentice to join the team and enroll in the Level 4 Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Apprenticeship.

Transcold is a recognised market leader in New Zealand’s transport refrigeration industry, providing quality solutions for Trucks and Trailers (primarily the Carrier product range and Tail Lifts) and container parts. The business operates from premises in Auckland and Christchurch. This job is based in the Takanini branch.

About The Opportunity

In this job, you will be working on installation, service, and repairs for transport refrigeration, along with tail lift repairs and maintenance.

This is a good-sized team with vast experience across both refrigeration and diesel mechanic trades so you will receive excellent training here.

  • NCEA Level 2 English and Maths
  • Drivers Licence and own transport
  • Pre-trade qualification preferred

New Zealand Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Level 4)

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Plan, troubleshoot, recondition, and test when maintaining and servicing a range of RAC plant and equipment.

- Apply engineering trade skills and knowledge to plan, install, and test a range of RAC equipment in accordance with industry and statutory standards. - Commission basic installations, and work with specialists to commission a full range of complex RAC plant and equipment.

 - Apply knowledge of RAC system design and applications to daily tasks, and to meet job and organisation requirements.

 - Apply knowledge of the use and management of refrigerants in the RAC industry to safely meet all relevant environmental, legislation, and regulation requirements, when recovering refrigerant into a cylinder, or charging a refrigeration system.

- Carry out electrical work associated with the installation, maintenance, servicing and commissioning of refrigeration plant and equipment.
