Garvesh Naidu

HVAC Supervisor

City Care Ltd

48 Stonedon Drive, East Tamaki

Garvesh is a Great supervisor. He is super supportive of my professional development and it's clear that he wantsme to be a successful technician. He's always willing to help out even when he's busy. If that means we have to work late or weekends to get the job done, he will be there. If he has toleave the office to help out in the field, he'll put his paperwork aside to help the team out in the field. If I am stuck on a problem and need technical advice, he's just a phone/video call away. He is definitely a client favourite. If there'ssomething that needs to be done right away, he's the person to call.He is also very patient with us. We make alot of mistakes in the field but its always nice to know that it won't be held against us. He is approachable and I can always approach him knowing that he'll listen and won't get upset or angryat whatever i'm talking to him about. One time I accidentally blew up a PC board while I was troubleshooting and I called him straight away to tell him whathad happened. He said: "That's ok, it happens." We both laughed about it.Learnt my lesson that day and never made that mistake again. On that same day we were very short staffed. In fact it was only myself, the trade assistant and Garvesh working at the time. I was still an apprentice at the time and still felt inadequate. That dayI had received 6 call outs, with the requirement to attend within 24 hours. 2 calls required me to be there within the hour. Garvesh was attending jobs that had been assigned to him separately. And being short staffed, I was the only other option. We were both under a lot of pressure that day. It had gotten to the point that I was overwhelmed and broke down in tears from the pressure.About 5-10 minutes later, I got a call from Garvesh saying that 'I was doinga great job under the circumstances.' He reminded me to take a breakand not be so hard on myself. He said "do what you can and don't worry aboutthe timeframes, we'll get to them when we can."That is exactly what I needed to hear on that stressful day. After thatphone call, I wiped my tears, picked myself up and carried on. That's the kind of person that I want to work for and he's one of the few reasons why I continue to work in the trade and thecompany.
