Iâd like to take a moment to nominate someone who, for many of us apprentices, has been nothing short of a lifelineâMatt Adams.Matt is one of those rare people who is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also genuinely approachable. Out in the field, when we hit a wall or need guidance, it's a massive relief to know Matt is just a phone call away. And trust meâhe never misses a call. But his support doesn't stop there. Every Monday evening, Matt gives up two and a half hours of his personal time to run a night class just for us apprentices. Thatâs time out of his own schedule to help us succeedâbecause, as he knows, we need all the help we can get! His commitment goes far beyond the minimum. He also takes on the time-consuming task of reviewing our paperwork before it's submitted for marking. He checks everything thoroughly, making sure we've ticked all the right boxes. All he asks from us is to sign a few pagesâwell, maybe 5+ pages for 5+ apprenticesâbut thatâs a small ask considering the amount of effort he puts in behind the scenes to make our lives easier.Because once we're out in the big, bad world of constructionâaway from the safety net of the factory and the guiding hand of Matt Adams we need every bit of extra time and support we can get. Matt makes sure we have that. And it doesnât stop with just us apprentices. Matt also manages health and safety for the entire company, leads the site fabrication team, and somehow still finds time to juggle a dozen other roles. The guy wears more hats than I can countâand he wears them well.Matt doesn't do any of this for recognition. But today, I think it's only right we recognise the massive impact he has on all of usâespecially the next generation coming up through the ranks. For all of this and more I proudly nominate Matt Adams as our Most Valuable Team Member.Thank you.
