Chris White

Quality Assurance / Apprentice Co-ordinator

PFS Engineering Ltd

175 Riverlea Rd Hamilton 3214

Over the past ten years, Chris White has played a significant role in developing more than a dozen apprentices and Gateway students. His patient, steady, and supportive manner makes him an exceptional coach, and his commitment to each apprentice’s progress is widely recognised across the team. Current apprentices consistently report that Chris is always willing to go the extra mile—taking extra time to demonstrate specific techniques, revisiting complex tasks until they are fully understood, and providing the encouragement needed for them to succeed.Chris’s dedication is reflected in the achievements of those he has trained. Most notably, one of our apprentices recently won Apprentice of the Year with Steel Construction New Zealand, a testament to both the apprentice’s hard work and the high standard of guidance Chris provides. He works closely with John Crombie at Competenz to ensure all training requirements are met and that each apprentice’s progress stays on track. When needed, Chris even sets up laptops after work so apprentices have what they need to complete their theory and paperwork—something he does willingly to ensure no one falls behind. In addition to his significant contributions to apprentice training, Chris also carries responsibility for all final inspection reports in our Contract Manufacturing department. His attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and high standards ensure that every completed job meets the expectations of both the company and our customers.Chris’s combination of practical expertise, mentorship, and commitment to quality makes him an invaluable member of our team.
