Edwin Marsh built his company, Maihi Pines Limited, completely from scratch with nothing but determination, grit, and a vision to create opportunities for others. What started as one man with a dream has grown into a forestry business that uplifts and empowers people of all walks of life.He has given men who had no jobs or direction a second chance, encouraging them to get out, work hard, and provide for their families. Edwin doesn’t just give them employment; he gives them purpose. He teaches life skills, leadership, and self-belief. Many of his workers have gone from struggling to confident, capable men because of his mentorship and belief in them. His support goes far beyond work, he helps in all aspects of life, offering advice, encouragement, and even personal help when someone is in need. His drive, compassion, and dedication have inspired everyone around him to push harder, do better, and take pride in their work.A great example of this is when one of the young workers lost motivation and was ready to give up. Instead of letting him walk away, Edwin sat him down, talked through his challenges, and reminded him of his worth. That worker is now one of the most reliable members of the team — something he proudly credits to Edwin’s guidance.Edwin doesn’t just lead a company he builds people. And that’s why he truly deserves the MVC Award.
