MVC 2025 Finalists Selection

If anybody deserves to be nominated as the MVC, Tony Antonio is that guy. He is known as "The Uso" (brother) by his wide network of lifelong friends he has made over his many years within the printing industry. He has a way to draw people in with his charisma but most importantly his character, which carries into his work-life. His nature and experience show in our day-to-day workings, where he leads by example and is the type to just, "get on with it".During my time as an apprentice, I always had Tony’s support, empathy and guidance. He has created a safe and fun learning environment where questions are answered without judgement but with honest and direct constructive feedback. He would allow me enough space to learn and try things on my own but be close enough to offer valuable insights and point me in the right direction when faced with challenges. He has invested a lot of time and energy into both my work-life and my personal life. Close to my apprenticeships completion earlier this year, I was encouraged by my Competenz Assessor, Grant, to strive for a nomination for an apprentice of the year award, this is not a credit to myself alone, but to the investments Tony has put into me. Although, he would humbly never admit to it. He would spin it and say, "Shot Uce, I’m proud of you man".Tony takes pride in seeing his team achieve, someone I am grateful to work under. He is one of those people that some may never have the privilege to come across in their lives. He is a true mentor of not only his craft, but a valuable coach in all aspects of life. He is the MVC, the GOAT, the USO. Someone I consider a part of my own whanau.
