About the Opportunity

As an apprentice, you'll be part of our experienced team, getting involved in a wide range of tasks from day one. You'll work alongside skilled engineers, learning the ropes and contributing to real-world projects. This is your chance to join a high-performing, close-knit team and train towards playing a key role in delivering world-class engineering solutions.

You'll learn:

  • The art of machining by operating a range of workshop equipment, including manual and CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and drills, to create components for real-world applications
  • To build practical skills by fabricating and assembling mechanical parts for new projects and repairs
  • To understand the fundamentals of casting, including pattern making and mould preparation, to produce components from molten metal
  • To understand the importance of precision by interpreting detailed engineering drawings and using measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
  • To support the maintenance and upkeep of our machinery, learning how to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • To develop a strong understanding of material properties and their behaviour during the machining process
  • To follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

  • About You

    We are looking for someone who has:

    • Completed NCEA Level 2, or working towards Level 2 in English, Maths, and Science
    • A strong desire to learn and develop new skills
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • A logical approach to problem-solving
    • A great work ethic and reliability.

    Hours

    40 hours per week.
