About the Opportunity
As an apprentice, you'll be part of our experienced team, getting involved in a wide range of tasks from day one. You'll work alongside skilled engineers, learning the ropes and contributing to real-world projects. You'll learn:
The art of machining by operating a range of workshop equipment, including manual and CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and drills, to create components for real-world applicationsTo build practical skills by fabricating and assembling mechanical parts for new projects and repairsTo understand the fundamentals of casting, including pattern making and mould preparation, to produce components from molten metalTo understand the importance of precision by interpreting detailed engineering drawings and using measuring instruments to ensure accuracyTo support the maintenance and upkeep of our machinery, learning how to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issuesTo develop a strong understanding of material properties and their behaviour during the machining processTo follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Completed NCEA Level 2, or working towards Level 2 in English, Maths, and Science
- A strong desire to learn and develop new skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A logical approach to problem-solving
- A great work ethic and reliability.
Hours
40 hours per week.
