The  packaging programmes provide nationally recognised qualifications that  combine practical workplace training with technical knowledge. They equip  people with the skills to work in various roles in the fibreboard packaging  sector, including production support, machine operation, assistant operator  roles, and converting/carton/fibreboard operations. Training covers machine  setup and operation, trade knowledge such as workflow and warehousing,  quality control, maintenance, safety practices, and environmental awareness,  ensuring that employees are able to meet customer, production, and industry  requirements. The Level 3 and Level 4 programmes can be  done indepentantly or as one apprenticeship.

What do they do?

Packaging machine operators use specialist machines to create attractive, protective paperboard packaging for things like food, beauty products, household appliances and beverages. They also check that packaging meets specificatio

A typical day

Typically, an eight-hour day. Packaging machine operators plan, set up and run machines to make ready, cut and crease substrates, glue and fold elements to meet specific quality standards.
